Curriculum Review of the Master Chemistry Education Study Programe

In an effort to improve the quality of education and teaching, and ensure that established quality standards are met, the Master of Chemistry Education Study Program held a benchmarking activity aimed at reviewing the Master of Chemistry Education curriculum. This online event took place on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, and invited speakers competent in curriculum development, namely Prof. Dr. Muktiningsih (Jakarta State University) and Prof. Dr. Indarini Dwi P. (Pasundan University).

On that occasion, Prof. Dr. Muktiningsih stated that the curriculum of the Master of Chemistry Education Study Program at UNY was quite good and emphasized the need for a restructuring of the scientific vision within the Master of Chemistry Education curriculum at UNY. Furthermore, in line with the enactment of Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 53 of 2023, specifically Article 19 concerning changes in the student credit load (54-72 credits), it is necessary to anticipate this when developing the new curriculum. A similar sentiment was also expressed by Prof. Dr. Indarini Dwi P., who said that the OBE approach is needed to be reflected in the curriculum.
