Visiting Professor with Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Head of STEM Center Vietnam

On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, a Visiting Professor program was held for students of the Chemistry Education Study Program. Prof. Dr. Antuni Wiyarsi, M.Sc., as the activity coordinator, opened the morning session. This year, the study program invited Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Head of the STEM Center at HCMC University, Vietnam.

A total of 76 Chemistry Education students actively participated in the lectures. During this opportunity, students gained additional knowledge about the basic concepts of STEM, their application in chemistry learning, and the process of designing chemistry lessons with a STEM approach. Dr. Trang's engaging lectures and demonstrations encouraged students to actively ask questions and discuss STEM. This initiated the students' seriousness and enthusiasm for implementing STEM in schools during their fieldwork program. Although many considerations remain to be reconciled with the implementation of STEM in Vietnam and Indonesia, this has not dampened the enthusiasm of prospective chemistry teachers to put it into practice. Through this activity, it is hoped that prospective chemistry teachers will be motivated to continue developing their skills in a broad range of fields..
