Depatment of Chemistry Education Successfully Organized the 2020 National Webinar

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted various sectors, including research and teaching activities in schools and universities. This has made it difficult for academics to conduct research offline, both at schools and universities. Amidst these difficult circumstances, the Postgraduate Chemistry Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Yogyakarta State University (YSU), held a National Webinar with the theme "Trends in Chemistry Education Research During the COVID-19 Pandemic."
The event, held on Saturday, November 21, 2020, was conducted virtually using the Zoom Meeting application and featured speakers from both within and outside YSU. The speakers were Muhammad Haris Effendi-Hasibuan, M.Si, Ph.D., a lecturer from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the University of Jambi and Head of the Master's Program at the University of Jambi, and Prof. Dr. Hari Sutrisno, M.Si., served as a resource person. Furthermore, Muhammad Haris Effendi-Hasibuan, M.Si., Ph.D., presented "Conducting Non-Interactional Research During the Covid-19 Pandemic." Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Hari Sutrisno, M.Si., presented "Multivariate Analysis; Selecting Appropriate Quantitative Data Analysis for Chemistry Education Research During the Covid-19 Pandemic."
This national webinar demonstrates the commitment of the Chemistry Education Postgraduate Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Yogyakarta State University (YSU), to the challenges of conducting research during the Covid-19 pandemic. In his remarks, the Director of the Postgraduate Program, Prof. Dr. Suyanta, M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the presence of this national webinar. "On behalf of the UNY Postgraduate Program, we greatly appreciate this national webinar organized by the Postgraduate Chemistry Education Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY. We hope this national webinar will assist Master's and Doctoral students in conducting research, both for their final assignments and for writing articles," said the Director of the UNY Postgraduate Program.
The National Webinar was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY, Prof. Dr. Ariswan, M.Si. In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Ariswan, M.Si., stated that this national webinar is one of the innovations implemented by the Postgraduate Chemistry Education Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY, during the COVID-19 pandemic. "This national webinar organized by the Postgraduate Chemistry Education Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY, is an innovation to provide solutions to research trends that can be conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic," Prof. Dr. Ariswan, M.Si., hopes that the UNY Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Postgraduate Chemistry Education Study Program will continue to pursue the latest innovations at both the national and international levels, thus benefiting everyone. This national webinar is expected to provide a solution for academics to continue their research and writing scientific articles during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, this webinar is expected to provide a platform for obtaining information on research trends during the COVID-19 pandemic from the speakers. This national webinar was attended by 250 participants from various universities in Indonesia.
